Principal Director, Development Technology and Services

Position Overview

This is an important leadership role reporting directly to the Senior VP of Development Technology and Services with a high level of interaction with team members, game team partners, and Development Technology Services leadership. You are the senior technical advisor to the Studio Data and Insights team(SDI) and partner with the VP of SDI to guide and influence technical decisions/directions for the SDI team. Equally focused on innovation and strategic programs for our developers, you will also work with game team technology leaders to help guide deep player engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for SDI by building data capabilities as well a technical framework to support data-driven decisions with game team partners.

Lead Strategic data programs:

  • Core contributor of EA’s data programs that unlock our data potential
  • Ensure data experimentation to help solve EA’s data opportunities
  • Champion EA Studios data-driven fluency and culture

Implement a cross-EA Strategic Technical Objective Framework that uses workforce planning solutions ranging from internal virtual teams to long-term partnerships with 3rd party companies.

Identify opportunities and guide Mergers & Acquisitions of companies that have either essential engineering talent and/or important technologies and innovations.

Partner with EA’s Communications group to build a technology communications strategy that makes EA’s technology relevant to the industry and attracts top talent.

Work with EA Studio Heads of Technology and promote important change management where required.

Partner with game team Heads of Technology to create and lead an inclusive, vibrant tech community while using 3rd party services to help developers do the best work of their career.

Contribute to EA Studios technology and new idea road maps.

Qualifications / Competencies

  • Experience developing data or software applications
  • Experience leading engineering teams with and inclusive with a diversity mindset
  • Experience with data design/architecture process
  • Technical Leader with synthesis skills
