Data Scientist

Here in EA's Data Science group within Marketing Analytics, we're always looking for new members to help expand our horizon, to move our communal thought process. Data-driven decision-making is essential to game development, platform, marketing and operations at EA. We're looking for a thoughtful, disciplined, and quantitative data scientists with statistical modeling experience and a passion for games and digital marketing technologies. The biggest and single most important aspect that we look for in aspiring colleagues is intellectual curiosity, people who love the joy of discovery, in ending the day knowing a little bit more than when they woke up. --- You will work with top-talent and the latest technology on performance marketing and UA that will lead to a unique opportunity to turn your insights into products used by millions of users. We look for master's degrees in fields such as computer science, mathematics and the hard sciences. You will have a background in a quantitative field and will have experience working with large datasets. You will have good understanding of statistical theory, distributions, experimental design, multi-variable calculus, linear algebra, and how computational algorithms work.

What you'll do:

  • Work with colleagues across multiple teams (Marketing, Game and Data Science Engineering) on unique challenges at scale
  • Design experiments to monitor important product metrics, understand causes of changes in metrics
  • Build predictive models and automated machine learning pipelines to guide marketing campaign strategies with applicable insights, by analyzing high velocity streaming data
  • Research new algorithms to assess the efficacy of marketing campaigns and for real-time anomaly/breakout detection, e.g. fraud and bot detection
  • Design experiments to answer targeted questions with hypothesis testing such as: 1) Understanding ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends and 2) Identifying levers to help move key metrics.Bonus Points:
  • Experience with ads product development (e.g., DSP/ad-exchange/SSP) and is ideal
  • Experience with Google BigQuery and Kubeflow and Looker is helpful
  • Contributions to open source (e.g., R/python packages)
  • Published papers in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals is ideal
