We're looking for an animator to help with the development of a new Open World game with Motive Montreal.

What The Animator Will Do At Motive

  • Animate dynamic, stylized and appealing characters—player characters, as well as characters and creatures in AI
  • Create, from A to Z, animations of the highest possible quality in a timely manner, while respecting defined constraints
  • Produce 3D animations, including the motion capture prototype and the final keyframe animation
  • Collaborate with designers, programmers and other employees involved in product development
  • Participate in creating our products—from concept to completion

Who You Are

  • University degree or formal professional training, preferably in Animation or Art
  • Experience and proven ability to create and successfully implement keyframes animation
  • In-depth knowledge of the theory and principles of animation, such as timing, weighting, interpretation and poses
  • Autonomy, problem-solving skills, and teamwork
  • Expertise in working with Autodesk Maya is an asset
  • Optional: Solid experience with other 3D animation software, such as MotionBuilder and 3ds Max
  • Optional: Experience in motion capture direction and motion capture data cleanup

Portfolio Requirements

  • All portfolios must contain a detailed breakdown of the work. The candidate’s role in the reel, screenshots, digitized images and web pages, for instance, must be clearly visible.
  • Examples of various animations of humanoids, animals or other creatures
  • Examples of various physical actions and animation cycles applied to game characters
  • Optional: Examples of motion capture direction and data cleanup
