Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coach the programming team;
- Participate in the establishment of a long-term strategy in order to improve productivity and achieve a quality result;
- Participate in the hiring process of the team;
- Participate in the evaluation of the performance of team members;
- Develop and apply coding standards within the programming team that are consistent with the industry best practices;
- Manage relationships with external suppliers (if applicable); coordinate and ensure that production deadlines are met;
- Define the technical needs for the project, plan and define the future needs that will appear in the project roadmap;
- Contribute, with the other directors of the studio, to establish the technical documentation necessary for each research project. Ensure the maintenance of this technical documentation at each stage of the project;
- Promote innovation and creative problem solving within the team;
- Interact and communicate effectively with team members and other projects. Foster a spirit of collaboration between projects;
- Stay informed about the latest technologies, advances and developments in game programming.
Experience and qualifications:
- University degree in programming, software engineering, computer engineering or equivalent;
- Minimum of 5 years experience in video games - at least 1 year as Chief Programmer;
- Excellent knowledge of technological constraints on different gaming platforms;
- Experience in planning and project management.
Technical skills:
- Strong software design skills;
- Experience in cross platform development;
- Optimization experience.
Interpersonal skills:
- Leadership;
- Ability to organize and manage the work of other programmers;
- Ability to be a team player;
- A desire to push the barriers of video game technology is required;
- Maturity to give and receive constructive criticism is expected;
- Be a good communicator.
