Dovetail Games are looking for a talented Junior Audio Designer to join the DTG audio team. As part of the team you will record, design and implement audio for Train Sim World. You'll get the chance to create and implement audio assets using a wide range of sound design methods and techniques

Please note this is not a music composer position.

Please provide an up to date and relevant demo reel displaying your creative and technical audio design skills e.g. sound design and game audio implementation (design and implement audio into any of the free game engines (Unity, UE4, CryEngine).

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the audio team responsible for the audio content of our Train Sim World Franchise
  • Obtain or create appropriate source material for the creation of in-game audio
  • Implement audio using Unreal Engine 4
  • Test and fix any problems found in the audio
  • Maintain and enhance our library of sounds
  • Record and edit audio using commercially available tools such as Sound Forge and Reaper
  • Research and obtain knowledge using beta forums and outsourcers
  • Follow the audio project plan and work with the Senior Audio Designer in estimating tasks

Person Specifications

  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 native audio engine
  • Be able to create and implement audio assets using a wide range of sound design methods and techniques.
  • A proficiency with modern day audio software tools (Reaper, Sound Forge, Plugins).
  • Clear and demonstrable skills in creative audio asset design and implementation.
  • A good knowledge of field and studio recording e.g. SFX, Foley, Dialogue etc.
  • A show-reel of relevant game-centric audio work (please see notes below)
  • Resourceful and enthusiastic

Desired skills of our Junior Audio Designers

  • An interest in trains
  • Previous experience in the games industry or working with game audio.
