Deck13 Interactive GmbH, founded in 2001, is one of the leading game developers in Germany in the heart of Frankfurt. Since 2020, we are the spearhead of Focus Home Interactive’s first-party development studios and in 2021 we ventured into the Canadian market by establishing our Deck 13 Montreal studio.

We have over 70 talented employees from more than 10 nations developing world class action RPG games. These include major releases such as Lords of the Fallen and The Surge, which have also helped us make a name for ourselves in the international market.

To continue our success story, we are now looking for you to join our team as our new Senior VFX Artist (m/f/d).

Responsibilities:

  • Become a player within the art department and play a critical role within the VFX group
  • Design and create stunning real time effects using custom tools
  • Creating high-quality in-game visual effects that work well with the visual direction of the game
  • Ability to work successfully in a large team of other artists, programmers, and game designers
  • Take on technical tasks and problem solve based on the projects needs

Requirements:

  • Several years of professional experience in real-time VFX for published high quality console or PC titles
  • A highly creative and talented artist with a very good eye for art & design and capable in technical aspects of games and tools
  • Always looking to collaborate with supporting departments and teams while demonstrating high ownership and responsibility
  • Excellent reference material regarding VFX for games, showing strong artistic understanding of art, gameplay and animation principles
  • Bonus: Knowledge in cinematic post production and experience in 3D modeling, 2D texture creation and offline simulation tools
  • Very good understanding of game development processes and high interest in R&D
  • Excellent knowledge of current state of the art games, films and top-notch development techniques
  • Excellent understanding of rendering pipelines
  • Very capable of creating complex shader networks and scripting
