  • Develop and maintain mechanical CAD models, assemblies, and drawings to support product development and testing activities
  • Plan, execute, and document mechanical, thermal, airflow, acoustic, and reliability testing, including wind tunnel fan testing and thermal test vehicle validation
  • Own execution of test plans and checklists, including firmware-related functional tests, in collaboration with electrical and firmware engineering teams
  • Provide creative and practical solutions for simple- to complex engineering, testing, and scheduling challenges
  • Collaborate extensively with electrical, thermal, firmware engineers, product managers, designers, manufacturing, and internal or external partners (suppliers, test labs) to ensure successful development and launch of new products
  • Maintain regular and consistent communication across teams, including reporting of test results, project status, risks, and change control as required
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, thermal, and system-level issues identified during validation and testing phases
  • Prioritize deliverables, tasks, and issues; manage test scope and change requests against scheduling and resource constraints
  • Support EVT, DVT, OOBE, and regulatory compliance activities throughout the product development cycle
  • Contribute inputs for the mechanical and validation portions of component program development budgets and schedules
  • Proactively assist with cost-reduction initiatives through design optimization, material selection, and validation of alternative solutions

  • Advanced 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Strong assembly and detail drawing skills
  • Solid understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles
  • Ability to analyse and interpret test data and design options for critical features and determine optimal solutions
  • Ability to validate both novel and existing designs through structured testing and experimentation
  • Experience developing and executing mechanical, thermal, airflow, and acoustic test procedures
  • Basic knowledge of turbomachinery, particularly axial fans and impellers
  • Good understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer principles
  • Excellent attention to detail in both design control and test execution
  • Strong prioritization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to work across multiple parallel projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear reporting of test results and conclusions
