CCP London is growing! We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Production Designer to work with us on an unannounced online multiplayer shooter. We are looking for an individual with strong concept art design skills to join a highly motivated team of creatives to build a sci-fi game with unique user experience.

We are a robust team in the early stages of development. It’s is a unique opportunity to have a large impact on fresh visual design. Reporting to the Art Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of Production Design. This is a highly visible position inside of the company. You will be a key member of the creative team for the project.

The Production Designer oversees the concept team and connects gameplay and art, translating design briefs into concept art and key art, ensuring the desired creative intent and visual language's integrity. They meet with the Creative Director and Art Director to discuss their view and requirements. Then, they develop a conceptual language for every facet of art production. The Production Designer oversees the concept department. Depending on the size and stage of production, this could be just a few people or a larger external team. The Production Designer supports the concept art team throughout the development process on direction and vision. They attend story meetings, art reviews, and game reviews, adjusting and advising on visual design all along the way.

Your tasks:

  • Formulate product aesthetic and functional vision based on input from the Creative Director and Art Director
  • Originate concept art as required
  • Manage internal and external concept art teams
  • Communicate concept vision back to the team
  • Identify and mitigate risks early and communicate them clearly

Your profile:

  • 7+ years of experience creating high-quality concept art for PC/console games or film
  • Expert in translating written ideas into a visual language
  • Ability to communicate visual language within the development team
  • Strong painting skills and illustrations skills
  • Has a strong understanding of colour, light, and mood
  • Visual versatility with environments, characters, UI, etc
  • Demonstrations rough ideation to a final line drawing, perspective, or orthographic blueprint
  • Ability to work under pressure while implementing changes based on feedback from multiple sources
  • Knowledge of cinematic technique, language, and shot composition; matte painting proficiency is a plus
  • Expert knowledge of balance, colour, and composition
  • Can work with 3D assets to compose a scene or block shots for lighting
