The Production Director is accountable to the Destiny 2 Executive Producer.

With the uncertainty and rapidly changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19, most positions at Bungie are expected to onboard and work from home for a significant portion of 2021. In 2022, most Bungie employees will adopt a flexible schedule working from home part time (outside of positions identified as either 100% onsite or fully remote in WA & CA). Currently only a select range of positions are available for full-time remote work in WA & CA (please review location for details). Prospective employees located outside of CA & WA will need to establish WA state residency within 45 days of a start date. Bungie’s work from home, flexible work schedule, and remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver Destiny releases that reflect our committed franchise goals with a team that is willing and able to repeat its success while adhering to established budgets
Lead and mentor members of your development group's leadership team. Ensure the leadership team is working together effectively to achieve the group's goals
Design and iterate on the organizational structure of your development group, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and high overall team health
Evaluate development group staffing needs across all disciplines and make final decisions on staffing priorities and asks
Manage all budgets for your organization
Foster an understanding of Destiny franchise goals and vision
Serve as the ultimate decider within your group
Collaborate with other Production Directors and the Executive Producer to ensure plans are fully aligned and accurately executed
Work with the Destiny 2 Leadership Team to help build and deliver on the roadmap of future Destiny releases
Lead and advise Producers within your development group. Collaborate with them to define near-term goals, mentor them regarding project or people challenges, and support them in achieving career objectives
Lead by example in terms of production craft and expertise within the department

REQUIRED SKILLS

Proven game development experience in a project leadership role
Emotional intelligence, great interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teams
Outstanding problem-solving skills. Solid track record of understanding, simplifying, and solving problems in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
Demonstrable experience fostering teamwork and building high-functioning teams
Exemplary written and oral communication skills
Champion for agile ways of working and a solid track record of applying agile concepts and practices
Organization and attention to detail: the ability to speak to and provide supporting documentation to all aspects of your areas at any given time
Strong desire for continuous improvement
Experience working on a live game ("game as a service") preferred
