Reporting to the Director of Financial Systems and Reporting, the Accounting Manager is a new position supporting the growth of the Company and the rapidly-evolving accounting function. The Accounting Manager will have primary responsibility for various monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting and closing tasks, ad-hoc project work, and other areas as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help drive a timely and accurate monthly accounting close cycle

  • Supervise the day-to-day and monthly activities of the accounting department

  • Hands-on involvement with detailed reconciliations

  • Maintain, update, and create accurate and useful financial reporting

  • Drive monthly financial reviews with Finance leadership

  • Support audit engagements in ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements and filings

  • Work with internal and external resources to automate Bungie’s accounting and close processes

  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements; including system enhancements

  • Creation of process documentation as well as supporting the identification and testing of key controls within various business processes

  • Review of reconciliations as part of monthly accounting close cycle for a variety of standard and non-standard transactions

  • Create accurate and useful financial reporting based on evolving business needs and Finance/Company goals

  • Research and document technical accounting issues

  • Crosstrain on and back up of various processes within the accounting function

  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree finance or accounting, as well as 5+ years of relevant and progressive work experience

  • Ability to work well independently on complex and ambiguous tasks

  • Strong accounting technical knowledge

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Detail-oriented, analytical and obsessed with accuracy

  • Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Customer service passion in all internal and external interactions

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • CPA, preferably including public accounting experience

  • Experience with Workday or other modern accounting ERP systems

  • Experience with systems implementations

  • Experience in the compilation and review of tax returns and provisions
