We are looking for a creative and passionate individual to fill the position of Technical 3D Artist In this role, you will work with the most publicized children's brands on the market.

To achieve this, you will bridge the worlds of the Artist and the Programmer, acting as an interpreter and problem-solver. Thanks to you, the two worlds can collaborate cohesively and efficiently by respecting budget and deadlines, using the most appropriate tools and pipelines. You will ensure assets can be rendered without compromising the artistic vision and you will set benchmarks for your features as you go along. You are the team’s Hybrid Specialist, speaking from the heart and the mind, with a keen eye on what makes a great game for kids!

Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling visual effects, animations, and particle systems for mobile;
  • Build efficient Shaders that bring the artistic vision to life while respecting technical restrictions;
  • Monitor best practices in order to establish simple and optimized pipelines;
  • Prepare coherent documentation for pipelines, tools and procedures;
  • Prototype features and provide transparent accounts of their performance;
  • Do benchmarking for your features through research and testing;
  • Set-up assets in Unity (meshes, animations, textures);

During production and its later stages, you will also:

  • Collaborate with your coworkers so everyone adheres to procedures and standards you’ve established;
  • Update documentation as tools and procedures evolve over time;
  • Fix performance bugs and polish your features;
  • Train coworkers and support them;

Qualifications :

  • A minimum 4+ years of experience as a Modeller or Technical Artist in the videogame industry;
  • Experience developing for mobile preferably (at least two full production cycles) and understanding of its limitations;
  • Expert knowledge of 3D Max, Substance Painter, Photoshop;
  • Strong knowledge of Unity and its features like Timeline, particle systems;
  • Knowledge of After Effects software is an asset;
  • Experience with Visual Effect Graph, ShaderLab or Amplify is an asset;
  • Portfolio of VFX and particle systems;
  • Scripting knowledge (HLSL, GLSL, C#, JavaScript, Maxscript, Python) is an asset
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary teams;
  • Time management skills; respect production deadlines;
  • Attention to details;
  • Creative, resourceful, organized and disciplined individual;
  • Adaptability and flexibility required.
