Position Overview

The eSports Director of Operations is an entry-level opportunity which plays an essential role in the growing eSports program. You will have the opportunity to: be an integral member of a nimble and dynamic team, be involved with an exciting new varsity competitive gaming sports program, players, coaches, and labs.

This position is responsible for assisting the eSports General Manager/Head Coach in managing the many details involved in eSports varsity league and event programs. Responsibilities include managing the 100+ workstations in the lab, the per hour rental system that players use to practice, hire and supervise student workers to staff the lab, and control costs to stay within the budget. This person will manage multiple projects at once and pick up miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • (30%) Provide primary oversight of eSports online arena and associated eSports spaces, including 100+ gaming workstations in the lab, the per hour rental POS system that players and the public use to practice, give tours and scheduling events in the arena
  • (20%) Recruit, hire, train and supervise student employees with a minimum level of work experience
  • (10%) Technology integration and team uniform acquisition.
  • (40%) Administrative duties, including coordinating course scheduling and room availability, assist in creating yearly eSports budgets, event planning, representing eSports program on campus, Coordinate eSports team travel for away games, and accommodations for visiting eSports teams from other Universities.
  • Reception relief, email inquiry responses, assist in creating marketing materials and assist eSports General Manager/Head Coach in coordination of projects and initiatives as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NCAA rules and regulations
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours, days, including holidays.
  • Point of Sale experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing program funds and sensitive information.
