We’re looking for an AI Designer with a strong ability to write clear, detailed design documents and research real-world combat behaviors to create more intelligent, immersive AI.

You'll be designing and documenting AI decision-making, reactions, and behaviors, ensuring clarity for programmers and the wider team. Researching real-world combat tactics and translating them into AI behaviors that feel authentic and engaging. Visualizing AI systems through sketches, flowcharts, and diagrams to communicate complex ideas effectively. You'll be tweaking AI decision-making, fine-tuning reactions, and making sure they don’t get stuck staring at walls (unless that’s part of the plan). Working closely with programmers and technical designers, you'll help shape AI that feels dynamic and believable—whether they’re engaging the player or just trying to stay alive.

Responsibilities

  • AI Design: Help create and modify AI behaviours, assist in creation of underlying AI systems, adjust config values to achieve a realistic and immersive experience. Writing and preparing materials and design documents for AI team.

  • Collaborative Design Process: Work closely with teams across departments—particularly programming and technical design—to ensure that designs reflect a unified vision.

  • Testing and Refinement: Participate in regular play sessions to assess and refine AI behaviours and abilities.

  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation to reflect the current status of mechanics and assets for easy team reference.

  • (Optional) Scripted Implementation: Utilize object-oriented scripting languages (e.g. C-like languages) to implement and refine technical design aspects.

  • Visual scripting: Behaviour trees, FSMs design and maintenance

Requirements

  • Professional experience: 2+ years of relevant industry experience

  • Experience with developing AI or gameplay features

  • Analytical skills on a proficiency level

  • Collaborative & proactive: able to communicate effectively across departments and take the initiative to enhance gameplay experiences

  • Language skills: good spoken and written English

Nice to Have

  • Scripting Skills: Scripting capabilities are welcomed.

  • Game Engine Experience: Experience with the Enfusion engine or modding in the Arma series is highly advantageous.

  • Personal interest in military, military tactics, modern military history are plus.
