As a Senior Test Lead, you uphold quality in everything you do. Assemble your team and prepare to embark on a journey to create the most epic experiences ever, as you demonstrate your passion to develop future test professionals, leading the charge in our quest to defend the ‘product’ through innovative and technical proficiency. You see the big picture, push testing strategies to the next level and lead a team of testers, while partnering with stakeholders to drive quality assurance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, recruit, coach, and manage a team of 5+ towards individual and team excellence
  • Partner and provide high value quality-related services to development leadership
  • Accountable for the quality of all work and relationships on your team
  • Drive test development, estimation, planning, execution, reporting, and closure
  • Project manage and maintain schedules for responsible test area
  • Develop training materials for project team, and lead workshops for test leadership, requirements gathering, and risk identification
  • Coach and develop leadership talent across the department for succession planning
  • Champion and influence software development best practices and the customer experience
  • Coordinate responsible test areas with regional teams
  • Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality
  • Analyze product quality and usability, associated system limitations, and report on risk
  • Host test closure activities; e.g. testware evaluation, knowledge transfer, retrospectives
  • Lead, connect, and partner with teams across Blizzard towards quality initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 7 years' testing experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' management experience, leading test teams
  • Understanding of with functional and non-functional testing best practices including white, gray and black box test approaches
  • Demonstratable knowledge of and or experience with automation testing and coding best practices
  • Experience in Agile and CI / CD best practices
  • Demonstratable experience in test planning for complex features/systems and or multiple projects at once
  • Experience handling multiple products at the same time, ensuring timelines, resources, communication and process integration are pulled off seamlessly
  • Understanding of KPI and how to not only define and generate, but also how to tailor it to a technically-focused test strategy
  • Passion for video games and software quality
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Willing to travel between offices, to maintain strong collaboration and alignment
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain aligned with remote teams
  • Knowledge of testing and leading test efforts, across multiple platforms including PC, Web and Mobile

Pluses

  • Coding experience with C#
  • Experience with Selenium
  • Experience with non-functional test tools such as those used for Code Coverage Analysis, Static Analysis and Performance Testing
  • Can speak to left shifting best practices
  • Certification in any of the following: PMP, Scrum Master, ISTQB-ATM
  • Experience working in remote teams
  • Experience leading other leaders
