As a Technical UI Designer, you will have proven experience working in a collaborative team environment, building fully functional UI in visual scripts for modern AAA titles. Working closely with UX Designers and UI Engineers, you will use your UX/UI and technical expertise to create complex in engine UI systems. Focused on outstanding gameplay experiences through clean, intuitive, and accessible UI. You will develop and own fundamental building blocks of the UI, complex UI implementation, pipelines, and standards. You will also work closely with engineers to develop and improve the engine and tool UI features.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA , Austin, TX, or Albany, NY.
We need your help with:
Cultivating and maintaining collaborative relationships with design, engineering, art, QA, and production
A deep understanding of UX/UI standard methodologies and a passion for video games
Designing, implementing, and iterating on complex UI systems and menus
Developing UI architecture using in engine data and scripting
Collaborating with other teams in the development of UI processes, tools, and workflows
Mentoring other designers to improve their scripting an implementation capabilities
Contributing to design discussions embracing Blizzard's core value of "Every voice matters," creating a safe space for collaboration, communication, and creativity across all teams and departments
You’re good at:
Minimum of 5+ years as a UI/UX designer on the production of a title or combination of applicable training and experience.
1+ years as a technical designer
Experience creating UI architecture and menus with game editing tools/script
Experience in pipeline development and process improvement
Understanding of UI workflows in multiple game editors
Ability to create design documents for UI systems and tools features.
Bonus points for:
Experience with AAA game engines such as Source, Unreal, Unity, or CryEngine
Experience developing shippable in engine UI for multiplayer games
Having a computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or related degree

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $92,920.00 - $171,814.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
