Your Mission

We are excited for a Senior HR Manager and Business Partner to join our World of Warcraft (WoW) Development team in Boston! Reporting to the Director, Human Resources at Blizzard Entertainment’s HQ, this person will contribute to the company’s performance by encouraging an organization where people are motivated to do their best work. You will provide strategic solutions that directly enable the outcome of the company-wide objectives.

This person will partner closely with executives in Boston and across Blizzard to advance people strategies and solutions that are aligned with short and long-term organization and operational goals. In addition, they lead and partner with centralized teams to carry out accountabilities in: talent sourcing, attraction, retention, DE&I, succession, and pipeline planning; performance management, total rewards management, employee relations; the interpretation, localization and application of policies. This position requires a data-driven, analytical, collaborative and influential HR professional who has phenomenal people skills, can work effectively across a highly matrixed environment with utmost discretion and attention to detail.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following accountabilities:

  • Partner with leadership and employees to significantly improve the organization structure and operating model across several teams to improve player engagement and experience.

  • Coordinate short-term and long-term initiatives to develop and evolve employee engagement strategies including engagement and retention (e.g., talent assessments, engagement surveys, exit surveys).

  • Lead organizational change efforts, ensuring employee experience is at the forefront of decisions, and changes are thoughtfully implemented with strong process integrity.

  • Accountable for the approach and optimal outcome on employment matters.

  • Provide day-to-day mentoring to employees across disciplines and at various seniority levels; allowing employees to grow and perform at their best.

  • Drive integrity and accountability for the effective implementation of the annual talent planning, performance management, and total rewards processes.

  • Assist with the implementation of Benefits Programs and Leaves for the assigned team.

  • Ensure successful onboarding of new hires and improve onboarding processes where needed.

  • Analyze, report and use predictive people analytics as evidential reasoning to continuously improve the talent key performance indicators.

  • Build and maintain strong networks and relations (informal and formal) with employee resource groups, external partners, and leading industry and collaborator communities.

  • Actively participate in annual budget planning/staffing forecasting process.

  • Provide Warcraft HR leadership with reporting and special projects as required.

Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of experience in all aspects of Human Resources, including significant organizational change.

  • Experience directly supporting managers and senior leaders to make better people decisions that achieve business results.

  • Solid communicator with the ability to craft meaningful, effective messaging on strategic objectives or priorities to a diverse audience.

  • Experience assessing leadership and organizational talent; identifying talent gaps and effectively driving initiatives to address gaps.

  • Strategic consultative approach to building rapport, credibility and trust with employees and management.

  • Outstanding project management skills delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, complex, creative industry or development business environment.

  • Knowledge of contemporary HR practices.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $105,120.00 - $194,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
