Pull up a chair and join us by the hearth! Blizzard is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Designer to join the Hearthstone design team. Our team values creativity, collaboration and a commitment to quality and we are searching for like-minded developers to add to our team of talented game makers. Together we will learn, grow, and ultimately enjoy success by developing epic experiences for our players that push the boundaries of what Hearthstone can be.

As a Senior Systems Designer on the Features Team, you will design and develop the systems that power Hearthstone's player journey. Systems design on Features is the nexus at the center of Hearthstone's interconnected gameplay and product experiences, so agility will be vital as you actively partner with both internal and external team members. As with every designer on Hearthstone, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to carry design from concept into final implementation, and be a champion of Blizzard's core values, especially “Commit to Quality”. We value diverse voices and varied backgrounds and we're looking for individuals to help us build fun, compelling, and inclusive gameplay, and experiences for Hearthstone.

Previous Hearthstone gameplay is not a requirement to apply for this role, however it is a plus.

  • Developing an understanding of the Hearthstone community to identify common points of friction and opportunities to deliver targeted systems to improve the player experience

  • Predicting and mitigating consequences of interacting system designs

  • Monitoring and upholding the results of the systems designs in a live environment

  • Driving one or more cross-disciplinary working groups with clear goals, holding implementation of sophisticated systems accountable to a core vision with kindness and candor

Experience

  • 1+ years of experience as a people manager
