The world always needs more heroes!

The Overwatch team is looking for an accomplished lead designer to help guide Overwatch 2's content plans, post-launch.

This is a high-level role that reports to our Game Director. You will lead our live service efforts by working closely with team leadership in planning future seasons. This includes ideation for live events, leading groups of designers implementing game systems and game modes, as well production in order to strategically work with available resources over the course of several seasons. You will look for fun, light-hearted ways to engage with our fans, as well as help us create content that develops an already amazing IP through additional lore and gameplay.

The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced nature of a live service, understands how to scope content and prototype quickly. But most importantly, you are someone who works well across multiple disciplines, herding amazing ideas, but also prioritizing and scoping all of the incredible things the team wants to build.

To be successful in this role, you should be a leader. Someone who is a cheerleader for the team. And someone who can communicate well both to the team, as well as to team leadership.

Ultimately, you're passionate about Overwatch and our community, and challenge yourself and those around you to deliver more and better experiences to our fans. You know how to balance business with fun, never losing track of Blizzard's design pillars, while understanding the limitations we have in terms of time and resources.

Are you up for the challenge?

  • Support the live game with game updates.

  • Communicate plans to the team, leadership, and the community, including disciplines other than Design.

  • Review and give feedback on all upcoming content, including marketing material, patches, and other updates.

  • Empower and guide an incredibly talented team, while mentoring them and learning from them.

  • Much more…

Requirements

  • 7+ years of design experience.

  • Experience working on at least one AAA live service.

  • Diverse design background: Ideally with experiences doing content, level, and/or system design.
