As the Associate Digital Marketing Manager for esports, you will be the driving force behind social media across online platforms for World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Classic Game esports.

The ideal candidate will have a background in social media at an agency or on the client-side, passion for the esports community, and a natural ability to engage players.

Blizzard has been a leader in entertainment for 30 years, with millions of passionate fans globally. We are seeking a candidate who will help bring Blizzard into a new era through social media.

This Associate Digital Manager runs point on fostering our World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Classic Game social communities, and creates unique and fun ways for players to connect with their favorite teams, players, and other fans through Twitter, YouTube, and Twitch. This person works closely with development and production teams, and is supported by an external agency in order bring their ideas and initiatives to life.

Previous work experience in gaming and esports is desired, but not a requirement.

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

Responsibilities:

  • Bring unique and exciting ideas to the table to engage our esports community
  • Plan and execute social initiatives with esports product managers and external agencies
  • Oversee esports’ social editorial calendar, aligning key stakeholders
  • Partner with platform stakeholders such as Battle.net, Twitch, and YouTube
  • Execute and/or oversee execution of social media on behalf of World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Classic Game esports
  • Engage players and community through social platforms
  • Collaborate with Game Teams to integrate esports into central business and communications strategy
  • Coordinate with international/regional teams on event promotion
  • Work with third party sponsors on collaborative initiatives
  • Drive social media reporting through the use of Sprinklr
  • Utilize learnings to inform and support the creative approach

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in social media at an agency or on the client-side as a Social Strategist or Digital Marketer
  • Self-starter mentality and track-record for clever social ideas
  • Proficiency in collaborating within a large organization
  • Experience in providing creative feedback for social content
  • Passion for esports, Blizzard franchises, and social media,
  • Excellent verbal, organizational, and technology skills
  • Experience working with 3rd Party agencies/partners
  • Knowledge of the latest platforms and technologies
  • Desire to identify opportunities for strategic brand involvement
  • Working knowledge of social platforms and associated analytics programs and tools like – Sprinklr
