Blackbird Interactive is looking for a passionate and experienced programmer to join our team to be a key part of our engineering backbone working on an exciting and innovative IP. You will be part of a high performing team who can crunch ideas quickly and come up with dazzling solutions to challenging problems. You will have a collaborative approach and be directly involved in the day to day decision making and ship a high quality game.

Responsibilities

  • Build software solutions to integrate game systems with a commercial engine
  • Seek out and implement system-level designs and optimizations to improve game performance and ease of development
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to create and ship a AAA title
  • Optimization of existing systems, and architecting new optimized systems
  • Optimization of data architecture and workflow
  • Work on cache coherency, CPU/memory performance, and low-level profiling

Requirements

  • Shipped multiple games
  • Solid knowledge of Modern C++
  • Experience with Unreal, Unity or other full-featured game engines, particularly in the areas of object definition, instantiation, pooling and streaming
  • 5 years of game related programming experience
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills, including verbal and written skills

Pluses

  • Understanding of memory management systems, file systems, CPU/GPU profiling tools
  • Demonstrated passion for games and technology.
