Director of Product, Esportsbook

We are looking for a product leader who is excited by the hands-on, innovative, sometimes chaotic, and ground-breaking nature of an ambitious start-up. Reporting to the COO, and dotted line to the CPO, you will be responsible for setting up and driving the success of our sportsbook product. A successful candidate has a deep knowledge of both esports and sportsbook, is well aware of the differences in their respective customer needs and actions accordingly, and will help drive a community-first, UX-driven, innovative esportsbook.

Help us build an industry-leading esportsbook that redefines existing norms by being user-friendly, easy to use, heavily segmented, enjoyable, and by providing the bets and content the users want, when they want them. This is a role for a hero who’s determined to defy tradition and build the best product out there!

Responsibilities:

Owner of the sportsbook product roadmap
In charge of day-to-day management of our sportsbook operations
Establish, monitor, and exceed KPIs for success
Work closely with the COO on our sportsbook strategy, long-term objectives, and business development efforts; develop and maintain strong relationships with third party suppliers
Working closely with key stakeholders to drive customer research to truly understand what kind of product esports enthusiasts considering betting want
Subsequently working closely with the CPO to deliver sublime UX and customer-driven UI
Bring roadmap items to life through hands on collaboration with BI, UX, art, engineering, QA, and other product teams
Be a key leadership figure for the operations and trading teams – helping create a single, cohesive, efficient, KPI-driven unit
Work closely with the trading team and 3rd party suppliers to ensure we offer best odds; and perform competitor benchmarking to ensure we stay ahead of the curve
Vigilant for fraud and integrity issues. Ensuring compliance with market regulations
Build and manage a cross-functional team to support the sportsbook - you will identify staffing needs and be responsible for headcount planning to optimize departmental operations
Mentor the rest of the product team in what makes a successful sportsbook and how to deliver it effectively with all the usual buzz words – agile, scrum, etc.
Create a "can-do" atmosphere that drives the team to perform beyond their expectations.

Experience:

Expert knowledge of how a modern sportsbook functions, a deep understanding of the mathematics of bookmaking, and are up-to-date with industry trends
Intimately familiar multi-platform, mobile-first, multi-jurisdictional products
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and to quality
Passionate about data, with strong analytical skills, and a knack for building strategy and taking calculated risks based on research, data, and industry trends
An exceptional team leader who cares about the well-being, respect, motivation, and career paths of their team; experience recruiting, managing, growing, and mentoring superstars
Thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment, capable of wearing many hats while managing diverse and fluctuating priorities; not afraid of risk or to challenge others’ viewpoints to ensure everything we do is both optimal and exceptional

Desired:

Experience working closely with 3rd party development studios
A mathematical/quant/analytical/business background and mindset and a belief that algorithms can reduce the need for additional headcount
Knowledge of casino, cryptocurrencies, and/or trading is a plus

Requirements

MBA or similar qualification
5+ years of work experience in a related position
Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit and communication is a must
Experience working in a remote working environment
Experience growing and leading teams
Passionate gamer
