Bethesda Softworks is looking for a NOC System Administrator that will have a high sense of urgency and passion for fighting fires! As the front line supporting the online gaming experience your mission will be to ensure the game services are available, fast, and that issues get resolved as quickly as possible. You will be the center of all communications and key to the success of our products. NOC Systems Administrators work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate solutions across multiple teams and studios. This position will be highly focused on service impacts/outages, along with service request fulfillment, to assist and reduce workload for engineering teams.
Responsibilities
Ensure our customers always have access to world class gaming experience
Work with partners and other internal studio customers to ensure services are stable via incident management
Handle technical investigation needs and ensure high-quality information is provided to escalation teams
First response triage and troubleshooting of large Linux and Cloud based environments
Monitor server and system health to ensure availability through various systems
Work with partners to drive and improve process accuracy
Manage major incidents and engage stakeholders to minimize service impacts internally or player impacting
Adapt and be available for a 24/7/365 flexible schedule as needed
Qualifications
2+ years of previous system administration experience
Minimum 1 year of NOC or help-desk experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing and following technical documentation
Ability to handle public-facing communications as well as interacting clearly with upper management
Familiarity with administrative work on Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
Independent problem-solving, self-direction
Strong organizational skills and the ability to quickly assess and prioritize
Familiarity with most aspects of CLI/Linux CLI basic terminal commands
