NME is hiring a Gaming Guide Editor to spearhead its gaming guides section. This section provides the NME reader with comprehensive walkthroughs and tutorials, featuring the games that they love: from Animal Crossing: New Horizons to The Last Of Us Part II to Call Of Duty: Warzone.

What you’ll do

  • Research, pitch and publish timely video game walkthroughs, guides and tutorials relevant to the NME reader
  • Write and edit content according to the specific editorial standards as defined by our house style
  • Work with our Video Editor to produce clips to supplement the editorial content
  • Publish articles on NME’s website, and promote them on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
  • Maintain various editorial schedules
  • Manage relationships with freelancers

What you’ll bring

  • Excellent research, writing and editorial skills, especially in the field of gaming
  • Strong interest and experience in an array of games: RPG, MMORPG, FPS, Strategy, Digital CCG etc.
  • Familiarity with a range of platforms: PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Mobile
  • Experience with writing “How To” gaming guides and walkthroughs
  • Ability to grasp the voice, style and tone of a brand, and edit according to its unique standards
  • Ability to pitch creative, engaging editorial content
  • Ability to rewrite and edit quickly on deadline
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Photoshop and various social media tools
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in English, Journalism or Communications
  • 3+ years’ editorial experience

This position may be based in UK or Singapore
