Expansive Worlds is a creative division of Avalanche Studios Group and a leading developer and publisher of outdoor games. Since 2009, Expansive Worlds has been devoted to delivering highly immersive outdoor gaming experiences for millions of players and best known for the long-standing and successful theHunter franchise.

We are now looking for a QA Analyst to work with an unannounced title.

The Position:

You will work as part of a dedicated QA team based in Liverpool, ensuring that the game maintains a high level of quality for milestones and release.

As part of the QA team you will be working closely with a variety of people within the different development disciplines to provide testing and dev support. You will be given support and training in order to best analyse game features, create test plans, execute testing and other duties, as well as communicating with the team.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Functional and qualitative testing of gameplay mechanics & features
  • Detect, research and report all potential issues in the issue tracking tools
  • Verify fixes are implemented correctly throughout the product life cycle
  • Plan, write, maintain and execute test suites and test cases
  • Promote and input to collaboration, creativity, ideas and problem solving within the team
  • Actively highlight risks and concerns and always look to mitigate impact to the project

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Console and/or PC testing experience
  • Excellent written & verbal communication, implementation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working with bug tracking/reporting software (i.e Jira, Hansoft)
  • A good understanding of QA methodologies, terminology, and tools
  • Proactive, solution driven and excellent time and analytic skills
  • Able to remain focused and communicate risks and detailed information clearly
  • Ability to learn, comprehend and apply new concepts, techniques and procedures
  • Have a positive attitude, good people skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • 1 - 2 years professional QA experience
  • Education in fields related to games, testing or problem solving (or other creative skills)
  • Experience with game engines / development software (unreal, unity, crash reporting)
  • Knowledge of current gen technologies
  • Understanding of the development life cycle
  • Effectively adapt to changing tasks, workloads and requirements in a fast paced environment
