
Financial Operations Practitioner
As FinOps Practitioner, you will work closely with finance, operations, and engineering teams to establish processes and best practices for managing cloud costs. You will be responsible for ensuring visibility into cloud costs, optimizing spending, and driving financial accountability across the organization.
Observability through automation, tooling and alignment with our FinOps Program is key to this role. This position requiring extensive experience in cloud cost management, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. You will be among the subject matter experts on FinOps and will drive best practices to ensure financial accountability and governance within our organization.
What You'll Do
Work with stakeholders across finance, engineering, and operations teams to manage and optimize cloud spend across multiple providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
Establish cost allocation models and ensure accurate tracking of cloud resources.
Implement cost reduction strategies through better utilization, reserved instances, spot instances, and rightsizing.
Act as a key liaison between finance, engineering, and operations to foster collaboration on cloud cost management initiatives.
Support the engineering and DevOps teams with cloud architecture decisions to ensure cost-effective resource provisioning.
Provide visibility into cloud expenditure through dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analysis.
Develop and maintain cost management reports and KPIs to measure financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Work with teams to create and maintain cloud budgets aligned with business goals and requirements set forth by the organization.
Forecast cloud expenses based on usage trends, business growth, and anticipated projects.
Assist in identifying and managing financial risks related to cloud costs.
Ensure financial processes and cloud spending practices comply with internal controls.
Collaborate with finance and security teams to ensure cloud usage aligns with the organization’s compliance and regulatory requirements.
Implement and maintain FinOps tools and platforms to automate cloud cost management processes.
Stay current on the latest cloud financial management tools, technologies, and trends.
Educate and empower teams to take ownership of cloud costs and cost optimization.Provide ongoing support and guidance on cloud cost management best practices.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Relevant certifications such as Google Cloud Associate, AWS Certified Associate, FinOps Foundation Certified Practitioner are preferred.
2+ years of experience in cloud cost management, financial operations, or a related field.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud cost management tools (e.g., Flexera, AWS Cost Explorer, Google Billing, etc.).
Strong understanding of cloud budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and reporting.
Knowledge of cloud pricing models, cost optimization techniques, and financial governance frameworks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and influence change.

Pay Range
$111,793 - $207,616 per year
Our goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
