WHO YOU ARE

As the ideal candidate, you will work within a small but integral team, that will provide assets and explore โ€œbest practicesโ€ for character and creature creation pipelines and techniques. You will work closely with and support the Character Art supervisor and his efforts to provide the best character art services for multiple projects at NCSoft. This is a great opportunity to help the company expand in knowledge, both technical and artistic, and really make a difference.

**THIS IS A CONTRACT POSITION IN OUR BELLEVUE OFFICE**

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Model and texture game ready characters, creatures, armors, and weapons
  • Create new variants of existing character assets
  • Work closely with the concept, tech art, and animation teams
  • Integrate final assets into the game engine

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Professional experience within related industry, with a focus on Character Art
  • Knowledge in processing and usage of 3D scan data
  • Experience with modeling/sculpting: organic, and hard surface models
  • Experience sculpting both realistic and stylized assets
  • Expertise within realistic PBR shader and texture creation pipeline
  • Experience with retopology (Mayaโ€™s โ€œmodeling toolkitโ€ preferred)
  • Experience texturing and baking within Substance Suite
  • Ability to swiftly adapt and match fluctuating art styles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, and creating clean and animation ready geometry
  • Aptitude to learn new tools
  • Excellent communication, time-management and organization skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be able to professionally provide and receive critiques

  • Maya
  • ZBrush
  • Substance Painter
  • Marvelous Designer
  • Photoshop

  • Shipped AAA titles, demonstrating experience building compelling character assets
  • Unreal Engine experience
  • Self-Motivated, hard-worker who works well in a small team environment
  • Fundamental understanding of traditional sculpting, drawing and painting
