Job description

The Narrative Director is responsible for defining and executing the game’s narrative strategy. Working alongside the Creative Director, you will lead the narrative team (narrative designers and writers) and lead all narrative-related matters.

This role is for a New IP - set in ancient Scandinavian and based around Norse mythology; a semi-open world action-adventure RPG following a young female protagonist, as she battles the supernatural Viking world, learns about the history of the land and faces her foes.

Responsibilities

  • Participate to define the themes and tones that support the game’s creative vision
  • Lead, task and support writing content for the game - review pitches, new themes, scripts, quests, characters and backstories, factions and world lore.
  • Ensure the alignment with the creative vision when developing the main characters and key narrative elements with the narrative designers and writers.
  • Lead, task and support writing comprehensive quest dialogue, ambient dialogue, and supporting narrative content for various game systems.
  • Partner with the producers and leads to ensure the plot and critical narrative goals are executed accurately based on the overall game direction.
  • Establish and improve the narrative design process and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure coherence across the game's design.
  • Support and communicate with interdisciplinary producers and leads to reach project goals and illustrate game mechanics' use to reinforce the story.

Additional Information
