We are the Prime Video Application Surface Team. Our mission: To build a new framework that isolates the complexity of Living Room Devices from any software engineer that wants to build a rich interactive application for the living room. We obsess about performance, developer experience, engineering and operational excellence.
As a Software Development Engineer in our team, you will be responsible of owning significant parts of our framework. In collaboration with your team, you will help define, build and deliver solutions that improve the experience of other software engineers building applications that target Smart TVs, game consoles, cable boxes and streaming devices. In collaboration with your team, you will help us drive our vision and roadmap in this complex and deep technical space. You will design features and solve technical problems, contribute to the larger team architecture and making sure our framework is performant and performance bottlenecks are removed. You will drive innovation through your designs while working closely with your customers.
To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable owning large portions of software on your own, be comfortable in a fast-paced environment of experimentation, learning and innovation, and be a fast learner of new technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Computer Science fundamentals – Algorithms, Data Structures and OOD
- Understanding of algorithms, data-structures, efficiency, concurrency, performance optimization and their applicaitons
- Knowledge of Object-oriented development and design patterns
- OS fundamentals and systems architecture.
- Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communications skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Experience developing SDK and/or developer tools
- React/React Native, Layout engines and web technologies
- Cloud computing, large-scale and high-availability distributed architecture.
- Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
