Your Mission

As a Copywriter you will help create and execute a unified communications strategy that connects and provides value to millions of Activision fans around the world. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to execute acquisition, engagement, and retention initiatives that provide value to players while driving meaningful impact to the business. You will also be instrumental in continually evolving Activision’s Lifecycle Marketing program across all of our titles.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Partner with the department’s strategy leads and creative team to execute on-brand marketing copy for Call of Duty®: Warzone™, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and new releases.
  • Proactively work with external stakeholders to maintain informational accuracy and set a standard for high-quality, engaging content and messaging
  • Write for a variety of player-facing communications: in-game messaging, email campaigns, Call of Duty Companion App, Push notifications & SMS as needed
  • Assist teams with creative copy direction, deliver on-brand copy according to production deadlines, and implement feedback received by other cross-functional teams
  • Work closely with the broader CRM team and external agencies to help build high quality creative and ensure timely campaign delivery.

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of copywriting experience at an entertainment, Agency, Publishing, or related industry with an understanding on how copy and messaging shapes external communications.
  • Must be able to self-edit; deliver writing that is clean, clear, and grammatically correct while following internal style guides and tone
  • Experience with multiple projects under tight deadlines, organized detail-oriented, and friendly.
  • Proven ability to use segmentation and behavioral data to personalize and optimize player experiences across email, push, in-game, and SMS.
  • Strong understanding of email deliverability best practices and global data privacy/governance policies.
  • A motivated, independent, self-starting attitude with strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles to deliver.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Extra Points:

  • Gaming experience a plus but not required. However, a strong willingness to learn our products and our customers is required.
