The Planet9 writer aims to be the definitive, trusted source for news, guidance, and perspectives from Planet9. The candidate possess both exceptional writing and editing skills and deep grounding in esports topics and subject areas. This makes the candidate not only expert in editorial execution but also trusted thought partners on how to tell the right stories that resonate with our audiences.

Required

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent English, both in written and oral, native English speaker to be a plus
• 2 years of experience editing and writing for gaming/esports audience. Experiencing translate technical concepts for a broader audience.
• Experience with gaming/esports topics and themes.
• Knowledge of design and communication trends, with an understanding of consumer insights and key words.
• Ability to create a snappy headline as well as longer form copy
• Ability to take complex and sometimes technical business language and translate them into meaningful human-centric copy.

Preferred

• Attention to detail, oral and written communicator, interpersonal skills, and able to foster relationships within a diverse team.
• Experience working cross-functionally with product marketing teams, PR, support, and/or creative agencies.
• Background in tech journalism or marketing writing for technical products.
• Ability to craft fully fleshed-out stories based on briefs, narrative docs, and other information.
• Ability to edit submitted content with an eye towards clarity, comprehensibility, and impactful storytelling.
• Comfort working in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
