What We Need:

2K is looking for an experienced Community and Social Media Manger to act as the brand ambassador for Firaxis Games products across a variety of communities and social media platforms. Under the direction of the Director, Global Marketing, the Community and Social Media Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the global community and social media strategy for the Firaxis Games products, balancing the global brand needs vs. the regional marketing needs.

This individual should have extensive experience in community management, social media content planning and storytelling. This person must be able to see content plans through conceptualization to execution in a quality manner. This person must be a skilled copy writer with an eye for quality and can maintain a consistent voice across platforms. This person must also be passionate about video games with a strong knowledge of the Civilization & XCOM franchises and general pop culture trends.

What You Will Do:

  • Define the global community and social media strategy for the Firaxis Games products, including methods of player acquisition, retention, and engagement from owned and earned channels.
  • Manage and execute day-to-day global community & social plans working with internal cross-functional teams, development teams, and external agencies as needed.
  • Establish a relationship and engage directly with the Firaxis games community, understand their concerns and desires, and relay those to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive social conversations and maintain a visible external presence on both brand and community channels including, but not limited to: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Discord, Steam, first party consoles, as well as the respective product websites.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance and social sentiment, using data tools and insights to inform decisions. Pro-actively recommend enhancements to the strategic plans, escalate potential issues, and offer solutions to assist with problems.
  • Compile and distribute regular community-related metric reports ensuring upwards visibility, as well as helping inform what metrics are valuable.
  • Establish and advocate for owned and earned channel best practices including content strategy and optimization as well as platform usage.
  • Maintain an ongoing content calendar for owned social channels providing visibility and transparency to global stakeholders.
  • Develop creative briefs for social content and help coordinate their way through the asset production and approval processes.
  • Other related duties as required.

We are looking for someone who is a social content strategist at heart, is extremely passionate about social media and is always on. This individual must be extremely independent, proactive, and always ideating ways to enhance what we do to drive engagement, while having the skillset to logistically execute ideas and effectively collaborate. This person must have the capacity to understand and always think about the big picture to make daily decisions that are aligned with the overall global marketing strategy. This person must be extremely thorough, detailed oriented, and organized while maintaining efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of social media or community management experience for a gaming publisher, developer, or entertainment brand.
  • Solid understanding of/passion for video games and pop culture is a plus. Strong knowledge of strategy & tactics genres, including the Civilization & XCOM franchises strongly preferred.
  • A social media enthusiast with experience building communities on, and practical knowledge of, social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc. as well as community platforms like Discord, and Reddit. Experience with Steam, Epic Games Store and first party platform community hub best practices strongly preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of social strategy development and paid social media campaigns.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of all established and emerging social channels, and audience growth tactics with proven ongoing engagement.
  • Experienced with social listening tools to monitor and analyze content performance and social sentiment, using data to inform decisions and optimize performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a portfolio of published professional work; ideally in a variety of mediums including long-form and social media. Previous editorial experience a plus.
  • Experience with coordinating creation and distribution of assets. Knowledge of creative dimension sizes and the different nuances of how they display on each platform.
  • Strong understanding of, and proficiency with, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere is a plus.
  • Impeccable project management skills and high degree of comfort managing multiple projects.
