Get ready to riposte in En Garde!

En Garde! is a highly exciting action game with exhilarating swordplay being developed and published by Fireplace Games. The skill-based fencing combat and ability to utilize environmental obstacles and objects to your advantage allow for engaging and fast-paced swashbuckling sword fights.

Previously a student project from 2018, En Garde! has been developed into a fully-fledged game that sees you taking on the role of a young swashbuckler aiming to fight the tyranny of Count Duke in 17th-century Spain.

Progression in the game not only relies on your fencing abilities, but parkour-like and acrobatic skills due to the levels being "full of opportunities to create mischief and gain the upper hand." The game will take you to a myriad of beautifully created locations, including palaces, dungeons, marketplaces, and more. You'll basically parry and lunge your way through the highly stylized Spain.

Announced at the Future Games Show 2023, En Garde! is now available to play as a demo, with the full release on Steam set for August 2023.
