Well Played Games is a small but experienced games development company based in Leamington Spa, UK, who develop a variety of video games across a range of platforms.
We are looking for an Experienced Designer to join our growing design team.
The Role
As part of the studio design team, you will be responsible for the design of game features. You will apply your creative imagination and knowledge of the video games landscape to design high quality experiences, which are authentic to brand IP, for our target audiences. You will work closely with the whole development team to ensure designs fulfil product goals and are efficiently implemented. Your work will follow our design and documentation processes, and you will help to promote these processes for the studio.
As an experienced developer, you will be ‘a safe pair of hands’ and will be given responsibility for entire features of the game – with the mentoring and support of the design team. You will be encouraged over time to broaden and deepen your skills, and to develop areas of specialism.
Your Skills and Experience
Essential:
- 2+ years in game development
- Worked on at least one launched title; ideally, designing for a live game
- Experience and interest in at least one of these areas
- Leading the design of game features
- Economic or mathematical systems design
- User experience design
- Strong mathematical skills; work with statistics and probability
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Broad knowledge of the video games landscape, especially F2P models
Desirable:
- Showcase portfolio / website, demonstrating design work
- Experience with Unity, Git, Jira, Confluence, spreadsheets, diagramming tools
- Player of competitive mobile F2P games
