The opportunity

We are looking for a passionate DataOps Developer to join our dynamic team in the Grow division at Unity. Our focus is on ensuring the operational stability, performance, and cost-efficiency of our cloud-hosted data infrastructures, serving both internal and external users.

As a DataOps Developer, you will maintain and improve the stability of our data infrastructures on Kubernetes (AWS EKS and GCP GKE). You'll optimize our data services for performance and cost, handling on-call duties to ensure continuous service availability. You'll also contribute to the development of our Druid and Streaming services, enhancing their stability, cost, and performance.

What you'll be doing

  • Improve stability of Druid, Streaming, Iceberg, Trino, MySQL infrastructures

  • Participate in the on-call rotation of these infra

  • Focus on monitoring, cost reduction and performance improvements

  • Develop scripts in Python

  • Work in collaboration with customers

What we're looking for

  • Experience working in an Ops team (DevOps or DataOps) that developed in Python and as an on-call of cloud infrastructures, either on AWS, GCP, or Azure

  • Experience with AWS and GCP

  • Experience with k8s (either on AWS EKS or GCP GKE)

  • Experience with Streaming technologies (either Spark Streaming, Spark Structured Streaming, or Flink)

  • Experience with databases (Druid, Trino)

You might also have

  • Good development skills in Scala or Python

  • Good understanding of Linux OS administration

  • Background as an SRE
