Senior Unreal Netcode Programmer for Multiplayer VR Game

We are a small startup working on the demo of an experimental VR game, in collaboration with research and academic partners in the medical sphere. We're looking for a senior Unreal Engine netcode programmer who can demonstrate, at minimum, experience of work on networked shooters or melee combat games. Ideally, we'd like to find someone who has worked on networked VR games.

The specific area we'd like to address is how to go about handling weapons, thrown objects, objects passed from one player to another etc in a performant way. We have an idea of the approach that we think makes sense, using server-side components that are interpolated on the client, but would like insight into whether this is the right approach and, if so, how best to execute it.

The ideal candidate might be in full time employment doing this sort of work, but who's contract will allow them to work part time on a VR game in a different market. The job will blend consultancy with our programmers as well as work doing initial set up of the solution. If this first job is successful, we'd be open to progressing on to new consultancy and coding briefs, for the same project.
