Since opening its doors in 2008, Ubisoft Singapore has become the biggest AAA game development studio in Southeast Asia. The 500-strong studio is home to 35+ different nationalities focused on delivering ambitious gaming experiences to our players. Ubisoft Singapore has been contributing to all the Assassin’s Creed® titles since Assassin’s Creed® II. It innovated within the franchise as the studio behind the naval battle gameplay and water technology in Assassin’s Creed® III, Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag® and most recently in Assassin’s Creed® Valhalla. Its expertise in AAA and live operations, combined with a passion for naval gameplay, pushed the team to lead the development of Skull and Bones™ revealed at E3 in 2017.

JOB DESCRIPTION

YOUR DAILY JOURNEY

  • Creating locations that follow the art vision, fulfil the gameplay needs, meet technical requirements, achieve the quality bar, and are fully debugged;
  • Coach and train fellow level artists in delivering their locations;
  • Raise the quality bar by providing level art benchmarks as visual targets for the team;
  • Support Art Direction and Leads in handling wide impact level art mandates;
  • Share and promote processes that improve the delivery of locations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

World Art Deliveries

  • Understand visual direction of the Art Director & communicate it to your team;
  • Produce high quality world art base on the art direction given;
  • Resolve questions from your team members whenever possible. Escalate issues to Art Director if the direction is not clear;
  • Constructively engage with the Art Director, providing your expert opinions on the vision;
  • Work closely with fellow artists, programmers, animators, game designers and sound designers;
  • Enforce any artistic vision & set up the quality standard by using proper documentations and visual references;
  • Support the marketing efforts with visual assets as necessary.

Collaboration

  • Shows maturity in problem and conflict resolution. Proactively voices out concern to stake holders with supported justification;
  • Maintains a professional and healthy relationship with all the team members;
  • Approachable and maintains a positive attitude in meetings (reviews, planning…);
  • Show exemplary commitment, even in critical situations;
  • Collaborate with art director[s] & leads to ensure alignment between artistic vision and lore.

Communication

  • Actively communicate all dependencies, changes and task completion to Ad & leads;
  • Initiate and participate in the knowledge sharing, problem solving, and technology research with other team within and/or across projects.

Organizational

  • Shows maturity in planning his work and providing visibility to production;
  • Provides regular visibility on progress of his work by archiving and sharing content;
  • Works according to the priorities in JIRA.

Business

  • Has very good knowledge about the video game industry and its evolution;
  • Uses his knowledge of the competition to adapt his game to the expectations of consumers;
  • Promotes the project's marketing orientations.

For the studio and the group:

  • The success of the project is the main objective, success also means growing the studio competencies;
  • Identify and promotes the application of the best ideas; Contributes to major innovations;
  • Share experience, develop a Ubisoft culture.

QUALIFICATIONS

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Large experience working as Game Artist on level or 3D assets;
  • Passion for gaming industry;
  • You are a gamer and understand the player's journey experience;
  • Great communication skills;
  • You thrive within ambiguity and likes to take initiatives.
