Ubisoft Bordeaux
Founded in 2017, Ubisoft Bordeaux works with passion on the biggest AAA titles to deliver the best gaming experiences. Today, the studio is composed of 400 talents from 20 different nationalities, working on licenses such as Assassin's Creed, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and a free to play game, BattleCore Arena. At the same time, the studio has set up a Tech branch which works on all Ubisoft's online services (named Online Services) as well as on the Anvil game engine. Ubisoft Bordeaux is also home to a R&D team, La Forge, which brings together engineers and researchers to work together on prototypes for game production, particularly around AI topics.
Job Description
As a Quest Designer at Ubisoft Bordeaux on an Assassin’s Creed Game, you are responsible for designing part of the missions of the game.
As such, your responsibilities will be to:
Be in charge of the paper design, development, listing of your needs (assets request), integration and debugging of main and secondary missions/quests (overall gameplay flow, objectives, rewards, events, tutorials…)
Collaborate closely with various teams (Narration, Game Design, Level Designers and Artists…) to define and integrate elements related to your Quest (Scripted scenes and cinematics, Layouts, Environmental storytelling, Boss fights etc.)
Use our scripting tool (nodal) to set up the overall flow and define the triggers necessary to the mission/quest
Maintain communication and updates on your progress to stakeholders, including your management and producing, QA teams and other designers
Qualifications
Advanced training in Design, you have previous experiences in level/mission/quest design
An experience on an AAA open world RPG is considered a plus
You know the technical constraints of an engine, you are comfortable with scripting tools and have a good capacity to illustrate your intentions
You like to learn and discover new tools and processes
You are creative, analytical, autonomous and rigorous
You keep an open mind and are able to challenge your content while taking into consideration constraints and feedback
You strive in a job where you are working with various teams, often a central point of contact and know how to maintain a productive and positive working environment
You have a good level of English allowing you to interact with your non-French speaking peers
You are passionate about creating video games and you have a good video game culture
