Job Description
As a Character Rigger, your role will be to help us create, implement, and maintain a character rigging system. Creating the rigs of several characters, including ensuring that we use the best techniques and practices available in the industry, while meeting delivery requirements, and collaborating with other disciplines. To support, plan and execute building character rigs, debugging issues and ensuring we adopt the best practices while maintaining the quality of the rigs.
Responsibilities:
Rig characters, and occasionally creatures and props, working closely with the character team to fully realize an integrated character in game
Adapt, maintain and troubleshoot rigging pipeline to be used in production in accordance with the project's technical constraints.
Collaborate with design, modeling, and animation teams to build robust, animation-friendly rigs
Work closely with modeling team to assess asset topology and provide notes as needed
Follows technical directives and delivers technical support to the team, thereby helping to solve bugs.
Be proactive and communicate any issues encountered in our rigging pipeline with the Production team in a timely manner
Support the Lead and Seniors of the department in any ad hoc tasks and duties
Qualifications
A demo reel or samples with a breakdown of your best work showcasing technical animation/rigging skills is required.
Experience creating full body and facial character rigs in Maya or any other relevant 3d Software
Proficient in skinning and other deformation techniques
Good communication, time management, collaboration and problem-solving skills
Good understanding and technical knowledge of commercial Game Engines
Strong understanding of figure and facial anatomy
Understands and can execute the rigging, animating, and integration pipeline
Willing to take on new challenges and a strong appetite for learning, researching and developing
Able to take direction and feedback positively, adapt to change and thrive under the pressure of tight deadlines
Enthusiastic, methodical and organized approach to work with high quality standards
Experience in videogame rigging/technical animation or any other relevant experience is a plus
Experience Programming is a plus
