Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and people-oriented HR Business Partner to join Ubisoft Osaka. You will play a key role providing guidance and support on a wide range of strategic and operational HR issues. As a core member of the HR Team, you will have a direct impact on our creators. The role is a complex HR role with a high level of independence and trust. You will work closely with team members to foster a friendly and inclusive work environment that promotes strong collaboration and continuous learning.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day local delivery of HR. Ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently.
Be the first point of contact for questions and issues from employees, forwarding to co-dev HR teams as appropriate.
Assist in delivering employee training and development programs to ensure employees are integrated quickly for ongoing success.
Collaborate with the team to execute HR initiatives from HQ that align with organizational goals and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members, fostering their growth and expertise in their respective areas.
Talent Acquisition
You constantly align with the managers on project needs, in terms of headcount and capabilities and follow-up on the roadmap
You work with the hiring managers and recruiting members to identify the business needs and plan hiring accordingly
Performance Management
You cascade the timelines and educate the business on the end-to-end process
You facilitate calibration sessions where needed and support ongoing alignment conversations
You coach the directors, project managers and people leads to support them delivering their responsibility in the process
Talent Management & Succession planning
You work with the business leaders to identify the Core Team Members and ensure regular engagement sessions are facilitated with them
You deploy the key people processes, such as identification of key people (key potential, key performers, high potential etc.); identification of successors for key positions, ensuring there are succession plans in place for the identified people, etc.
Development
You work with the Development team to create the most appropriate learning needs assessment process for their projects and function and follow-up on the agreed actions
You mentor and coach people managers especially on leadership, managing difficult conversations, giving and receiving feedback, etc.
Compensation and Benefits
You work alongside the MD to deliver the key annual relevant processes
Data and analytics
Use and re-enforce the use of people data, insights and analytics in taking business and people decisions
HR Operations and Employee Relations
You ensure qualitative data on HR information systems, contract addendums, leaves & absences etc.
You handle ER related processes alongside the global HR/ER group and local HR team
Qualifications
The professional value you bring:
General HR experiences, in areas such as Talent Management, Talent Management and/or Learning and Development
Experience in fast-paced organizations and industries, such as media, entertainment, technology, software industry;
Good work ethics and handled confidential information sensitively with integrity
Familiar in dealing with employee matters and Japanese Employment law and regulation
Advanced English and Japanese, both written and spoken.
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (oral, writing);
Effective problem-solver, initiative and drive;
Ability to navigate in fast-moving and agile environment;
Prioritize effectively, good organization skills.
