Job Description

The director of communications is responsible for developing and implementing all strategies and operations related to corporate communications (internal and external) for the Ubisoft IT division worldwide.

Within the Communications sector, the job involves mainly the exercise of management responsibilities in internal and external communications and the management of the sector's human, financial and material resources.

The main responsibilities of this job are:

  • Work with the executive to articulate the vision of the unit and translate it into deliverables;
  • Improve inter-team understanding within the unit and demystify the IT mission within Ubisoft;
  • Build a team to ensure the delivery of objectives Lead the team under his/her responsibility and ensure the achievement of overall objectives related to the targeted promotion of the organization's policies and programs to internal & external audiences;
  • Use communication channels and tools adapted to the objectives set and ensure the dissemination and fluidity of information both within the organization and externally;
  • Assume a decision-making role in order for the executive team to achieve the objectives;
  • Submit recommendations and contribute to the strategic development of his/her department and thus be accountable for establishing and respecting the allocated budget and defined results;
  • Provides the necessary support in terms of strategic advice to senior management on communications issues such as the preparation of key messages.

Internal and Branded Content

  • Establish the main lines of social communication (training, corporate culture, etc.) in collaboration with management and implement the company's global communication plan internally;
  • Define the targets in terms of internal communication and to be the driving force behind the choice of messages and means of dissemination;
  • Guarantee the transmission of information to employees on the daily news of the company and its environment by means such as: mailing, newsletters, internal mail...;
  • Ensure that its team animates the content of the company's intranet site on a daily basis (putting online reports, videos, photos, columns...) and that they are the driving force behind developments (functionalities, ergonomics...);
  • Share the vision that will allow his team to develop and/or design new internal communication media (brochures, booklets, goodies ...) and act as a leader for the implementation and management of new processes within Ubisoft IT;
  • Designing indicators to provide information on the evolution of the company's social climate (internal awareness barometer, satisfaction surveys, studies, etc.);
  • Give the vision, advise and provide the necessary support to his team in the search for innovative concepts and places in connection with the design and implementation of events relating to particular moments in the life of the company;
  • Develop and enforce the graphic charter (logos, presentation materials...) in line with the creative vision and needs of the company;

External

  • Develop the company's external communications plan and ensure its implementation;
  • Contribute to achieving the company's brand positioning with key stakeholders through strategic communications and public relations initiatives;
  • Define key messages and the corporate positioning of the company (images, visuals, texts, etc.) in relation to its various external audiences;
  • Develop key partnerships with institutions and/or major brands in order to enhance the brand image and support the company's initiatives;
  • Ensure coordination with the communications departments of Ubisoft's other IT teams;
  • Set the tone when writing articles, press releases, press kits or any other media or sponsorship-related material;
  • Supervise the work of press attachés during campaign launches: validation of media strategies, approval of budgets, etc..;
  • Create campaign performance monitoring indicators, analyze the results (awareness, audience, etc.) and evaluate their impact in relation to the investment;
  • Participate in key events in the company's field of activity or sector (trade shows, fairs...) in order to represent the company;

Qualifications

Relevant experience

  • 10 years or more of relevant experience in a field related to the specialty.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Be structured and have a very good sense of organization;
  • Have initiative;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Have a perfect understanding of Ubisoft's business environment, the Canadian media scene as well as Ubisoft's strategic and corporate issues;
  • Leadership skills;
  • Ability to define and manage priorities;
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills;
  • Be results-oriented;
  • Bilingual (French and English).
