TruPlay is looking for a dynamic and collaborative person, with a passion for games, to join our team as a QA Specialist. This role will provide you the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most innovative and talented professionals in the gaming industry, and drive quality standards that will directly influence and help shape the minds of millions of young gamers for the future.

Requirements:

  • Must - An analytical mind and keen problem solver
  • Must - Willingness to learn, seek out answers, and look ‘beyond the problem’
  • Must - Demonstrated understanding of gameplay mechanics and systems
  • Must - Knowledge of mobile game testing, and experience creating robust test plans
  • Must - Familiarity with bug-tracking tools and software (eg JIRA)
  • Must - Proactive, results-oriented self-starter
  • Preferred - Familiarity with the Bible
  • Preferred - Experience working with a major game developer
  • Preferred - Knowledge of automated testing and scripting skills

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and contribute to the creation of test plans, scenarios, and procedures for developing and live products
  • Establish and promote QA best practices
  • Work closely with Production to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products
  • Frequently provide qualitative and quantitative feedback to the game team in both written and verbal reports
  • Work closely with User Testing Team to ensure all milestones are of sufficient quality to surface to potential players
  • React to live data results and work with the development team to strategize on potential quality improvements
  • Create and maintain relevant testing documentation for the team

  • Bugs are quickly found and reported, and root causes of issues are identified and addressed
  • Consistent testing practices across all games
  • Live player data & analytics are analyzed to continually refine and improve gameplay

Professional Experience/Skills:

  • 2+ years of testing experience for mobile games and/or apps aimed at a younger audience
  • Proven ability in both scripted and ad-hoc testing to uncover unique and surprising flaws in software
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge of ‘games as a service’ live operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and work effectively and efficiently to produce deliverables in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
  • Up-to-date with the latest game trends, techniques and technologies
  • Set an optimistic tone and promote communication and teamwork
