THESPIKE.GG is a website that provides coverage for professional VALORANT esports events organised by different Tournament Organisers and Riot Games. Launched in April 2020, THESPIKE.GG has been one of the leading websites that provide statistics on different professional players playing VALORANT, articles for roster moves and upcoming events and a community where users and fans can comment and engage together.

We are looking to expand our team and require a PHP Developer on a full-time basis who will be responsible for the development of new features, apply bug fixes and more on the current website stack.

Responsibilities

• Code and test technical solutions while seeking optimal performance on multiple browsers
• Managing your time effectively to meet deadlines
• Execute assigned tasks and communicate status to Head of Department
• Communicate progress against tasks, status, issues, risk and dependencies on a daily basis
• Propose ideas of improvements of the application, procedures and technologies used

Skills Required

• Experience of developing object-oriented application using PHP7
• Experience with MVC frameworks like Laravel, CakePHP or Yii
• Extensive knowledge on developing and consuming REST API
• Experience of using and optimising MySQL databases
• Extensive knowledge on client-side technologies: HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript and jQuery
• Experience with GIT and the whole process of version control, pull requests and receiving feedback
• Speak English fluently
• Good attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to complete duties on time whilst maintaining a high quality service

Nice to have

• Knowledge with how AWS services like EC2, RDS and S3 Buckets work
• Basic knowledge of using Ubuntu command line tool through SSH
