Job Title: Corporate Attorney
Job Summary: Provides legal advice and counsel to the organization on labor and employment law and related fields in support of business activities and transactions.

What you’ll do
Provide exceptional front-line legal support to client teams in a pragmatic and collaborative fashion, including practical legal advice and counsel to the People team’s professionals and other stakeholders on all aspects of employment and labor law, including recruiting and hiring, employment agreement review, classification, leave and accommodations (ADA/FMLA), performance management, and employment terminations.
Research and evaluate different legal risk factors regarding business decisions and operations and offer proactive legal advice on possible labor and employment-related issues.
Conduct or oversee internal investigations, including Hotline complaints.
Develop, review, and/or update legal templates, including employment letters, separation agreements, handbooks, policies, and Code of Conduct, among others.
Provide legal training to new hires and draft and update legal training materials.
Collaborate with outside counsel to defend the company’s rights in agency investigations, negotiations, settlements, and litigation matters.
Review, revise, and/or negotiate employment and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) related NDAs, contracts, DPAs, and statements of work for legal sufficiency and protection of the company’s rights.
Provide legal advice to the DEI-CSR team. Work with legal and stakeholder teams on DEI related data collection and review, as well as annual employment-related compliance, such as EEO-1 and other reporting requirements.
Track relevant legislation, research, and interpret existing laws and regulations and anticipated changes to laws to guide informed decisions and reduce risk.
Partner cross-functionally across the organization on different projects and execution of new initiatives.
Work with immigration team and stakeholders on immigration cases related to candidates and existing employees.
Assist with employment related issues involving corporate acquisitions including recruiting and hiring, employment agreement review, classification, leave and accommodations (ADA/FMLA), and employment terminations.
Travel occasionally to other company work locations to assist with employment-related matters.
What you’ll bring
Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant professional experience providing legal counsel on labor and employment law in a business environment, or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise and experience.
J.D. degree from accredited law school.
Membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar or admission in another state with ability to waive in
Excellent knowledge and understanding of federal and state labor and employment law.
Exceptional drafting, legal research, negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
Sound judgment and demonstrated ability to analyze information, often in ambiguous situations, and provide practical and effective legal advice and proactive strategies.
Proven ability to handle multiple matters efficiently and effectively within a fast moving and growing organization.
High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
Ability to travel on occasion.
Knowledge of Washington state employment law, Immigration law, and practices a plus.
Prior in-house experience preferred.

Base salary range: For this role, new hires generally start between $125,000-$148,000. The full range is $125,000-$187,000. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
