Following the acquisition of a Manchester site at the start of 2021, Team 17 is now looking to hire a Head of Programming, to take full ownership of the technical direction and leadership of the studio team, ensuring that the framework is in place to allow our ambitious growth plans for 2021 to run successfully.

The Head of Programming is responsible for the management, direction, growth and overseeing of the code department at our Manchester Studio. This is an exciting opportunity to grow a new team in relatively new studio to become a major player in Team 17’s growing portfolio of titles.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in the growth of not only the programming team but the Manchester Studio as a whole as well as working closely with your counterpart in our Wakefield Studio to further enhance the Team 17 framework for code.
  • Develop and drive the tech vision for the studio and keep up to date with developments and methodology in the tech world.
  • Maintain the structure, growth, development and scalability of the programming team with succession plans, risk monitoring and clear roles and responsibilities and with wage structures.
  • Lead by example by being approachable, available to all as well as regularly providing communication, feedback and performance reviews of your team and department as well as distributing opportunities accordingly
  • Manage and maintain relationships across departments as well as with external partners, customers and suppliers
  • Management, prioritisation, and delivery of tasks appropriate to your level and the situation with balanced delegation and involvement across the team.
  • Have clear documented practices for tools, tech, onboarding, management, recruitment, development and training of staff within the programming team.
  • Manage and maintain the process and framework for delivery of quality output both internally and to our external partners form those in your department.
  • Make key decisions in order to ensure that any adjustments that are made are prioritised accordingly & communicated clearly to all relevant departments with an agreed proposal that ensures projects are delivered on time and in full.
