As the Regional Controller, BR, you will oversee the Accounting and Finance functions in Brazil. You will manage the month-end close process, prepare comprehensive financial reports, and ensure all financial activities comply with Brazilian regulations. Your role will also involve assisting with forecasts and budgets, spearheading audits, and coordinating with third-party accountancy firms. Additionally, you will oversee departmental purchases and identify cost-saving opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Accounting & Finance

    • Oversee the month-end close process and prepare financial reports

    • Assist with quarterly and annual forecasts and budgets

    • Coordinate and prepare annual tax returns

    • Manage audits and government reporting

    • Ensure compliance with Brazilian tax laws

    • Identify and pursue financial opportunities, such as subsidies

    • Review and optimize financial policies and procedures

    • Provide financial advice to management and liaise with third-party accountancy firms

    • Evaluate and oversee third-party accountancy services

    • Manage departmental purchases and identify cost reductions

    • Handle entries, payments, and account receipts

  • Operations

    • Partner with the Global Operations Manager to:

      • Identify and resolve workflow inefficiencies

      • Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures

      • Oversee data reporting, tracking, planning, and auditing

      • Provide budgetary input for regional projects

      • Assist with facility-related projects and ensure insurance coverage

      • Coordinate efforts with internal teams, external partners, and vendors

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

  • 5-7 years of experience in a high-paced operational environment in Brazil

  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian fiscal laws and regulations

  • Previous experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, tax filings, and government reporting in Brazil

  • Proven ability to manage teams, provide feedback, and oversee tasks

  • Track record of solving problems and optimizing processes

  • Experience in creating and managing regional budgets

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills to ensure effective two-way communication with team members and stakeholders

  • Effective supervisory and management abilities

  • Solid expertise in operations policies and practices

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team

  • Proficiency with accounting software, including QuickBooks and Excel

  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
