The Challenge

The Marketing Technology team works alongside the Labels (2K, Private Division, Rockstar Games, Social Point) Marketing, Community and PR teams, managing and supporting the underlying technology stack used for Paid, Owned and Earned Marketing activity.

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer (SDPE), you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data infrastructure. You will play a key role in maintaining systems that support the processing, storage, and retrieval of large data volumes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering and cloud technologies, along with a commitment to continuous improvement, aiming to keep the data platform both reliable and scalable.

Your role will involve designing and enforcing best practices to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of our data. In the area of monitoring and alerting, you will be the driving force behind creating dynamic and responsive mechanisms. This involves designing and implementing data-driven monitoring solutions that provide real-time insights into the health and performance of our data infrastructure.

The role demands the capability to work independently while overseeing engineers within the same time zone, the expectation is that you can independently handle the daily tasks associated with your responsibilities while keeping your manager well-informed.

What You’ll Take On

  • Lead the collaboration with data engineers to design and implement scalable and reliable data infrastructure.

  • Ensure the effective integration of data storage, processing, and retrieval components.

  • Design and implement fault-tolerant systems to ensure high availability and reliability of data services.

  • Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline data operations and infrastructure management.

  • Develop and improve the current data architecture, monitoring and data availability.

  • Develop a data quality framework to ensure delivery of high-quality data and analyses to stakeholders.

  • Overall responsibility for maintenance of enterprise wide data dictionaries.

  • Proficiency in working autonomously, leveraging a global support team when needed.

What You Bring

  • Extensive expertise in data engineering principles, advanced data processing, and modern storage technologies.

  • Mastery of programming languages, particularly Python, and advanced scripting skills (e.g., Bash).

  • Demonstrated experience in architecting and maintaining data pipelines on AWS infrastructure.

  • Proficient with monitoring and analytics tools such as Datadog, Elasticsearch, and Grafana.

  • Proven track record of developing automation and deployment scripts to enhance data operations and infrastructure management.

  • Familiarity with streaming data architecture.

  • Advanced proficiency in managing diverse data storage systems, including relational

  • databases, NoSQL databases, and data lakes.

  • Skilled in testing and monitoring data for anomalies, with a strong ability to

  • troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Significant experience working in a global environment, overseeing engineers,

  • collaborating with cross-functional teams, and effectively reporting to managers in different time zones.

  • Developing solutions using Docker

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Drone, Jenkins, Github Actions)

  • Experience with CDPs or DMPs

  • GDPR / CCPA compliance experience

  • Familiarity with Marketing Technologies

  • Experience working in an agile environment.

  • Previous gaming industry experience
