Our team at Stoic, a 4-time BAFTA nominated independent video game company, is seeking a Release Manager for Towerborne.
As a Release Manager you will play a key role in almost all areas of development. We are looking for someone to help establish, execute, and improve the process for new releases and releasing content title updates. This role needs someone with the technical know-how to dissect complex problems and drive discussions with technical teams. You will also need hands-on experience with partner developer portals and industry standard build pipeline tools.
NOTE: This role requires Pacific Time Zone working hours
What You'll Do
Own release readiness, build publishing, and configuration promotions through all environments including production
Document, execute, and improve change management and release process for all platforms and storefronts
Manage platform certifications and global compliance
Configure storefront game products and store pages in game publishing portals
Coordinate and drive multiple releases in flight to maintain a steady release cadence
Identify and mitigate risks to releases
Drive end-to-end build health process including monitoring, escalation, and reporting
Partner closely with Operations and Backend teams to keep upstream development on track and ensure a healthy live player experience
Work in a cross-functional capacity with internal teams
Work with leads to update and maintain, communicate, and coordinate release information and schedules
Assist in coordinating internal and external release notes, known issues, and knowledge base updates
Manage permissions and access to tooling, development software, partner portals, internal game testing environments, and public game environments
Act as the point of contact for triage of production outages
Qualifications
Pacific Time Zone working hours
3+ years of experience in Release Management or Technical Program Management
Knowledge of and experience with release processes for live games
Knowledge of release tools and pipelines on PC, gaming consoles, and mobile
Knowledge of first-party platform portals, gaming platform technology & release requirements
Ability to quickly grasp highly technical concepts, extract core messages for summary, and convey to others
Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools as well as DevOps practices and philosophies
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to operate in a highly fluid environment and react swiftly
Experience working with project management software

Experience working in an Unreal Engine development ecosystem
Experience working with Perforce
Experience working with TeamCity
Experience working in an Azure and/or PlayFab ecosystem

United States Pay Range
$110,000 - $130,000 USD
This range is determined by several factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. It is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
The final job level and compensation will be determined by the candidate’s work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business considerations.
