Reporting into the Director, Data Science/AI, the Product Manager, AI will be passionate about becoming a subject-matter expert and leading the development and implementation of AI-driven solutions to address key business and marketing challenges. In this newly solidified role for Square Enix West, they will have the opportunity to help develop the AI strategy and roadmap by identifying needs and defining the problems that can be solved with Data and AI (including Machine Learning and Econometrics Modeling). Responsibilities include assessing requirements and partners, gaining alignment across stakeholders, developing testing and delivery plans, and managing third-party relationships to ensure successful product and process deployment.

This role requires a deep understanding of marketing processes and strong stakeholder management skills to bridge data scientists and marketing teams, working together to achieve marketing sophistication through the use of data and AI.

This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to present highly technical topics to non-technical audiences as well as a clear perspective for how proposed data products and solutions deliver business value.


Roles, Responsibilities and KPIs:

  • Work with the Director of Data Science/AI, alongside other stakeholders, to define a clear and compelling strategic vision for AI transformation in marketing.

  • Lead the discovery phase to identify key needs and challenges addressable by AI and Data technology, collaborating with stakeholders to defne project objectives and requirements.

  • Align with stakeholders from marketing and publishing teams on enhancing marketing effectiveness capabilities using AI & Data solutions.

  • Facilitate alignment across requesting parties, including stakeholders from primarily marketing teams and publishing teams, to ensure consensus on project scope and priorities.

  • Develop testing and delivery plans, outlining milestones, timelines, and success criteria for product implementation and deployment.

  • Onboard third-party vendors or partners as needed, managing relationships, and ensuring adherence to project requirements and timelines.

  • Assess data needs and engineering requirements, working closely with data scientists, engineers, and other technical teams to define data sources, models, and infrastructure requirements.

  • Help improve performance and manage overall lifecycle of existing AI solutions.

  • Participate in AI thought leadership sessions internal and external to the organization, introducing new developments and trends in the industry.

  • Performance Measures: Project delivery, execution, adherence to project requirements and timelines, project alignment with business objectives and stakeholder satisfaction, and reliability and quality of recommended solutions, ongoing demand and adoption rate of AI-powered projects, contribution to thought leadership around the organization.

Qualification & Skills:

  • Experience with working as part of a marketing team and handling marketing processes (e.g. digital media management, media planning, creative). Experience in marketing-adjacent teams will also be considered.

  • Experience in product management or related roles, with a focus on AI or Martech Experience integrating Data or AI driven approach into marketing workflow.

  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from inception to delivery.

  • Ability to simplify complex, technical, or strategic concepts, to inspire cross functional teams and create change.

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques to evaluate project performance and inform decision-making. You make data-driven decisions based on the ability of the team to positively impact the bottom line and efficient scalability of applications.

  • Experience in Agile development methodologies and product lifecycle management, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations, as well as ethical considerations in AI and machine learning applications

  • Passion for AI, technology, and innovation with innate desire to become a subject-matter expert in building and deploying AI products.

  • Curious self-starter with talent for creating structure from ambiguity and independently discovering optimization opportunities.

We have a hybrid working policy which allows employees to work from the comfort of their home, three days per week, and in our amazing Blackfriars office for the other two.
