We are looking for an Associate Systems Designer to join our Player Investment team to implement quest objectives and assist with scripting for loot and progression. This individual will work closely with the Player Investment Lead and the rest of the team to implement content that helps the game world feel full and alive.

As an Associate Systems Designer, you will be responsible for implementing quest scripts, banter, and loot using various internal tools and scripting languages.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with a strong technical background and a passion for solving problems. If you have a passion for narrative, quests, and world building, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Implement quest scripts, banter, and loot, taking direction from the Player Investment Lead.
  • Utilize visual and text based scripting, as well as in-house tools, to build and maintain content that ranges from straightforward text entry to highly complex scripted scenarios.
  • Collaborate effectively with other disciplines (Level Design, Narrative, Animation, etc.) to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Participate constructively in production and design meetings and discussions.
  • Relentlessly iterate on content, striving for the highest possible polish bar and quality.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with game editors and scripting languages.
  • Ability to think logically with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Passion for story-telling, world-building, and the desire to make other people’s work shine.
  • Knowledge of competitive products as well as a personal understanding in video game fun.
  • Team oriented mentality, no task is too small or too complicated if it makes the game better.
  • 1+ year’s professional experience building content and/or completion of a Computer Science or Game Development degree.
