As a Senior Software Engineer on Metagames, you will design, implement, and support the front-end systems that power the creation of these experiences & features. Riot engineers bring deep knowledge of specific technical areas but also value the opportunity to work in a variety of broader domains. As a front-end subject matter expert, you will develop and maintain the user experience that millions of players around the world will interact with. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of artists, designers, engineers, producers, and QA. You will report to an Engineering manager on the Metagames team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team leads and stakeholders to identify functional & non-functional requirements for features.
- Generate and align on technical designs & architecture to support the product strategy.
- Develop & operate intuitive and performant user experiences.
- Triage & remedy live issues, identifying sustainable fixes.
- Review and improve team processes for delivering high-quality experiences for players.
- Participate in hiring and growing junior engineers through interviewing and craft mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in front-end technologies such as React or Angular and/or programming languages such as C++ and UI libraries such as Qt.
- Extensive experience operating live features, profiling and solving performance problems.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Experience integrating with multiple sub-systems and tiers including back-end services.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with programming languages such as Java.
- Experience building tools for internal use.
